Progress Report: 6.2.23
Grasshopper Family,
This does not feel like it was a short week.
Tuesday started with Aaron traveling to the NJ farm and bringing back a truckload of materials to the MI farm.
You can see by a schematic Caroline created that the original footprint has been planned out. We have another 1,000 plants being added! You can see some additional pictures of the dirt mixer being used.
The first plants went into pots this week! This is a huge milestone. The plants look great and are already reaching for the sun.
Adam was bringing our good name to two events this week. He was joined at the first by Jason and the second by Aaron. We had to upgrade our ice maker…the heat from the sun is starting to kick in! Check out a picture of the first batch of ice. We had some distillate made out of our biomass. Here is a picture of one of the liter bottles. We receive awesome feedback pretty regularly. Adam shared a screenshot of some awesome feedback from someone in the industry.
The team sent some great sunrise pictures this week. So beautiful. We also got a group shot of everyone participating in the transplanting.
Each day brings new opportunities. Some surprises. I had a tooth flare up last night and found myself being bounced from the dentist, to the endodontist, and then to an oral surgeon. This was not part of the plan. But, we rise to the occasion and give it our best. I wrote most of this in the oral surgeon’s waiting room…not knowing what I would have capacity for after I leave.
The sun is shining in Michigan on many of the class of 2023. They are happy to be outside. Soon they will have the rest of their classmates.
And just like that, we find ourselves in June.
I hope you all have a wonderful June weekend.
