Progress Report: 6.18.2021
Grasshopper Family,
Remember the days when we only had a couple pictures? Yeah....those days are sooo over.
It was really hard to wait until today to send another update. I am going to try to go in order of the pictures for this and future updates...1-18.
The first batch of plants moved from Building 1 to the Hoop House on Sunday! Please note how healthy and amazing these plants look. And, even though the team has been putting in crazy hours and days, they looked refreshed by this event as well! Harvey got a nice shot from inside the tractor of the interior of the Hoop House. The plants were set and they started their acclimation period under the 50% shade cover.
The leader of our Farm Operations (Aaron) was ecstatic to start moving plants from the Hoop House with Drew to the first trailer load...heading for their final transplant. Remember how our final licensing was granted on 4/20? Remember how that was not planned? This trailer moving plants from the Hoop House actually happened at 4:20pm on Wednesday. No joke. We need to pay attention to how these things keep happening. It's undeniable. Life is truly happening for us.
Next you will see Aaron massaging the roots before transplanting the first plant into one of the 4,500 outdoor pots. Everyone at the farm came together to witness this monumental event. Look at the smile on Brad's face. From there, everyone jumped in and started placing this initial batch of plants...smiles and positive energy all around. That's Clint throwing the double thumbs up. Clint has been farming cannabis a long time. He is part of the crew that has built Grasshopper Farms from day one. Transplanting our first batch was truly rewarding. For Clint. For Aaron. For Brad. For all.
The sunrises continue to deliver. We are so blessed.
We also got our first rain with plants outside today! That is another milestone we need to remember.
And while we celebrated the first batch, and the second batch, and more...the work continues. Hard work. We are still mixing dirt. We are still filling pots. We are still laying ground cover. We are still installing irrigation lines. The good news is this work only has to be done once. And that fact helps keep the team charging forward.
Let's not forget that we have incredible plants continuing to grow inside. They are looking strong as they prepare for their future homes. And that work is hard as well!
The team has been putting in 12-16 hour days. Exhausting days. Physically. Mentally. But they continue to crush it and there is an end in sight when we transition from this work to taking care of 4,500 plants on 32 acres. Not easy, but very different.
Farming is hard. It requires dedication. It requires blood, sweat, and tears. Farming breaks some. But, for those who don't break...they become unstoppable. Truly unstoppable.
We are on track. We are Grasshopper Farms.
