Happy July!!

Wow. Is it really July 1st? Are we really into the second half of 2022? Yes and yes.

The outdoor plants are continuing to explode with growth. It's actually pretty amazing when comparing the differences between indoor growth and outdoor growth. They are simply two different disciplines. Both have value in this market. I am really excited to analyze the indoor and outdoor journey.

Paul has been keeping a close eye on Plant 1 so we can see the daily growth. And there is daily growth!

Measurements help us make decisions. Check out our soil moisture meter! Taking random readings throughout the field helps us deploy the right amount of water at the right time.

Bret took a picture of what might be the last load of soil mixing for this season! We deployed additional fabric pots to our R&D bed, Bed 20. This is where we do pheno-hunting to ensure we not only have our established strains, but to bring new strains to market as well. You can see a picture of Bed 20 and how great it looks!

Building 1 just had a CO2 tank installed outside. This is an essential piece of equipment for our indoor plants...because they are starting their flower phase now! CO2 promotes healthy flower growth. You can see how excited Shawn, Lukas, and Max are to have the tank on site! We still need approval to use it. Kris is all over that and we should be using it in the next few weeks.

The expansion of Building 2 has begun! We are going to have a significantly larger retail flower harvest this year, so having a little more space is going to be really important. We wanted even more space...but this will have to do this year. Lean and mean is how we are operating!

Victor is continuing to own the pre-roll program. We are still dialing in the machine. We have a rep coming Wednesday to troubleshoot and finalize. Then we are off to the races! Check out the pre-roll artwork...we have a very creative team.

Matt took our drone out for a flight again. He is doing this weekly so we can really compare the growth. These are incredible shots. We will be sharing videos on our website and on social media as well. They are too large to include in these weekly updates.

Aaron brought his family out to the farm this week. They had such a great time. Like I have said, farming is hard work. And here is some proof. One of his daughters is all tuckered out!

Von and Lukas had a friendly farm race...check out the picture!

We end this weekly update with something that happened last Saturday. The Grasshopper Farms Soccer Team! Yup, you read that right. For those of you who don't know, Caroline is an avid soccer player. She was offered a full scholarship to play in Michigan and was then recruited by the US Military Academy West Point! It was a hard decision, but she ended up at West Point and served for five years as an officer in the Army after graduating. She put together a team for a beach tournament. We were the only non-club team there. Our shirts were a hit and the team had a GREAT time. People came and played. People came and supported.

It was a Grasshopper Farms Family event.

As we wrap up this weekly update, I find myself contemplating the journey. The ups. The downs. The things that worked. The things that didn't. The market dynamics that made sense. The market dynamics that did not make sense. We are working to take this company into the next phase. We are closing out the 2021 inventory. We are on track for an even better harvest this year.

This is hard work. Very hard work. And we don't have all of the answers. But, we do have an amazing team that has proven time and time again that we will figure it out. No matter what is thrown at us, we will figure it out.

And this is perhaps the perfect thing to contemplate as we head into the weekend of celebrating the independence of our great nation. A nation that was quite literally born out of figuring it out. This nation had external challenges. This nation had internal challenges. We figured it out and moved forward.

We too will figure it out and move forward.

Because, we are Grasshopper Farms.

Happy 4th of July to our Grasshopper Family!
