Progress Report: 5.1.2026
Grasshopper Family,
Ted Striker yells "Mayday! Mayday!", Steve McCroskey asks "What the hell is that for?" to which Johnny responds, "Why, that's the Russian New Year. We'll have a big parade. We'll serve hot hors d'oeuvres".
For those of you who know...you know.
Happy May 1st!!
We just rang in the fifth round of 2026, and it feels great.
Let's start in Colorado! The team has an army of clones, which we call the class of 2026. You can see from the pictures that they are all growing nicely and preparing to journey out into the newly prepped field.
People ask how we are able to achieve a better quality than most outdoor farms of which they are familiar. The answer is not really that complicated - we take great care with each and every step of our process. These plants are cared for. Loved. Nurtured. And maybe most importantly...proper farming!
Excellence.
Not surprisingly, Michigan is almost at the same stage. Now, it is time to remind everyone that the Colorado and Michigan seasons are slightly different. Only by a couple of weeks, but you can see from the pictures how the class of 2026 in Michigan is just a little younger. Deliberate!
Intention.
Adam hosted more industry guests who gave us very high marks for what we do and how we do it. As the tour moved through the farm, the team has been hard at work in the field, getting each pot ready to host its next visitor.
Preparation.
New Jersey is dialing in each step of their operation, with a focus on packaging! Packing takes time. It is tedious. Especially doing it by hand in 1/8th bags. BUT, they are GETTING IT DONE! Everyone has been jumping in and knocking it out as time permits. A couple of us even got caught on the security cameras.
Mission.
Colleen led the charge on cutting more clones as well. This is different than Michigan and Colorado in that we harvest about once a month in New Jersey. Staying on top of all of the steps that are running in parallel is all about logistics and Colleen is a Kung Fu master of logistics.
Prioritization.
Did you know that Colleen volunteers at the Funny Farm Rescue in Mays Landing, NJ? The farm is amazing and has pursued an honorable mission for decades. Well, they are having their annual event this Sunday - the 2026 Spring Festival! It is free to attend and fun for all ages, featuring incredible animals. Check it out if you are in the area!
Mission.
We have three pictures to wrap up our update this week. The first is an artistic skyline shot from our Colorado farm. The second is one of YOU who is using our pre roll tins to house his fishing flies! And the last is our own dear Truffle, hamming it up for the camera.
Have a GREAT start to your May and weekend!!
