Grasshopper Farms Family,
My day started at 4am earlier this week. I got to the Philly airport just as they were opening the security gates. I approached the TSA officer and was waved to approach. As I did, the TSA officer exclaimed, "That is a GREAT LOGO!" He then went on to say, "It is a grasshopper with cannabis wings! Awesome!" No one else was in line, so we were able to chat for a minute. He wished out loud that he could have a sticker with the logo. Well, as luck would have it, I had stickers to give.
A great start to the day.
It was a smooth flight in which the flight attendant said, "Back to Grand Rapids, eh?" Then the rental counter agent recognized me and welcomed me back. Incredible and friendly folks.
The drive from Grand Rapids is an easy hour drive to the farm. Then the magic really hit. I was welcomed by the team and I started to look around. It had only been two weeks, yet the farm looked even more dialed in. The plants had experienced another growth spurt. Everything was clean. People were working methodically.
And everyone was in a great mood.
This week was fantastic. I had some deep conversations with individuals that took us to the next level. We were able to talk about the vision and journey of Grasshopper Farms. We discussed the bigger picture of humanity. We brainstormed individual and collective learning and development. Awesome thought provoking conversations.
I had some team meetings that yielded excellent results in preparing us for the next steps coming associated with...harvest. As we get closer, the team is excited and nervous. Excited because we are more dialed in than ever before. Excited because the plants are insanely healthy. Nervous because we hold ourselves to an incredibly high standard.
The plants inside are simply beautiful. Gorgeous, even. They are about four weeks away from harvest. The flower looks incredible. We are SO excited to bring this flower to market!
Minnesota! Jamie and Seth (and family) are crushing the start of Grasshopper Farms Minnesota! We are so blessed to be working together!
Meanwhile, Chris and team are CRUSHING Colorado. Check out the pictures Donnie provided...one month apart. Wow!
Von caught a couple shots of us as we were talking through some of the harvest planning discussions. He took pictures and made some great contributions to the planning conversation!
We had a few tours this week. One was with our friends from Bud & Mary's. This time, we were honored to have some distinguished guests associated with their organization who have a massive amount of expertise inside and outside of our industry. We spent a significant amount of time together and very much appreciated the exchange of ideas. There is no doubt in my mind that the relationship between Bud & Mary's and Grasshopper Farms will become one of navigating this industry as a family.
Jack was awestruck with the sunrises and sunsets and decided to capture the beauty with the drone on Wednesday evening and this morning. Incredible.
We all showed up at 6:30am this morning and everyone started chuckling asking if Brad, Caroline, and I had called to coordinate what we were wearing. Ha ha. Nope. But, it's always a pleasure to see how our coordination starts outside the farm. Unknowingly. We are aligned.
This is a special team. A family. A group supporting each other to success.
We are Grasshopper Farms.
