Progress Report: 5.20.22

There was a lot of progress at the farm this week and throughout the state in sales as well!

The field prep efforts are coming along quite nicely! But, make no mistake about it...this is a LOT of work! The team did find some volunteer plants. Volunteer cannabis plants! For those who might not be familiar with the term, these are plants that present with no planting or effort. Andrew is making great use of his field hat. Charlie is working on the upper privacy screening. Great work!

As we move back inside we find plants. More plants. And more plants. They are super happy and healthy. Just look at the pictures! The team has been working tirelessly to transplant these beauties and make sure they are ready to move outside...which is going to happen in the next couple weeks! The initial indoor propagation work is a HEAVY lift and the team has been absolutely crushing it. Did I mention that our team can only work in Building 1 with propagation if that is the only place they work? The rigger is to maintain a clean and sterile environment. This is incredibly important for the health and integrity of our plants.

Check out how great they look. Look at how large some of the leaves are. Look at the amazing root structure. They are so great. AND, we are way ahead of the timeline when we compare this to last year.

One of the artists at Reggae by the Riverside is Nerry. He is amazing. A great artist. Super humble. And he LOVES our Grasshopper Farm flower! His team sent this picture this week and said that he is going to wear the shirt and hat at some of his shows. He did not even ask for anything. He just loves our team and our product and wants to spread the word about what we are doing. Awesome!

We have another Green Ticket winner! Rachael purchased our flower at Consume and was SO HAPPY to have won this ticket! Welcome to the family, Rachael!

Life requires balance. Daily farm operations mean long days of a lot of repetitive actions. You have seen from previous updates how the team does a lot together. It totally exemplifies building a family who runs a business. This week the team headed to the links after work. They had a great time. It was well deserved. And I absolutely love how everyone continues to put the effort into balance. This takes intention. And it is super important.

We have also found a turn in the market. Supply is showing signs of lessening. We had a large multi-site retailer call us ten days ago and offer us $350 per pound for all we want to sell. We said no. Of course. Yesterday they called and offered $600 per pound. We still did not do the deal. BUT, this is a huge shift in the market and we anticipate it will continue as we move into June. Patience, consistency, and quality will lead us to success.

Grasshopper Farms has been a tremendous lift. The team has worked so hard. And the team continues to work hard.

I very much hope you all had a wonderful week. There is a beautiful weekend waiting for you...and I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy it!
