Progress Report: 10.8.21
Grasshopper Family,
HARVEST is just about here!
It has not even been a year since we started pushing dirt to develop the property. That will be on October 14th! There are so many things to reflect on.
First - Please take that step towards following your dreams.
Second - Invite amazing people to join you. Life is a team sport!
Third - There is no perfect time to start. So, start now!
Fourth - Time absolutely flies!
It truly is hard to believe what we have accomplished in almost a year of operation. Incredible.
BUT...
We have and we will continue to CRUSH it!
I was talking to one of our Grasshopper Family members this morning. He was telling me how much he appreciates these weekly updates. He also shared with me that someone he was talking to was so impressed with these weekly updates - a level of communication he hasn't experienced before.
I am so thankful for this feedback. We are doing something special here and being able to share it with each of you makes it even more special.
Thank you.
Let's get into some updates.
Building 2 is essential to the harvest. We received our final building inspection approvals and certificate of occupancy on Wednesday. Our final state inspection is on Tuesday. And then....HARVEST!
We are finalizing some items in Building 2 while we are waiting for our state inspection on Tuesday. The hanging rails are up. The fans are up. The dehumidifiers are up. The air cleaners are up. Now we just have to finish a few things and clean/disinfect each room to prepare for Tuesday.
The last of the insulation has been blown in over the spray foam.
The team had a chance to test the hanging curtains as well. They are perfect.
Remember the test plants we harvested? The drying and curing is done and they were the first to go through the trimming machines. Our trimming machines will remove the large leaves and allow us to manicure before they are packaged for retail. The test was a huge success! We also sent off our first samples to two different labs this week. This first test will teach us more about the things we do not want to see rather than the THC levels, which will continue to develop until we start harvesting next week. Take a look at two samples of the flower below. Beautiful.
Outside, Steve has been improving the drainage. We had a significant rain after he completed the drive in front of Building 2 and between Building 1 and Building 2 and it drained well. He is a master and we are thankful for his team.
Our migrant partners continue to increase in numbers as we prepare for harvest. We have an amazing team of migrant workers and we are thankful for them.
You'll see that we have our cameras up and running on Building 2.
Aaron's truck headed out this morning to pick up the conveyor rollers we will use to move containers into Building 1 and from Building 1 to Building 2. We work smarter.
The last set of pictures shows the beauty that we enjoy each day. Low light mornings. All of the exterior lights on between both buildings. Beautiful flower. Beautiful plants. And our Grasshopper artwork outside the front door of Building 1.
Meanwhile, Adam has been crushing sales calls to retailers throughout the state. They are ready. They are excited.
Harvest is scheduled to begin next Tuesday. I am going to send out a separate harvest email within the next few days with all of the details.
Greatness is in front of us.
We are gracious for this opportunity. We are blessed.
We are Grasshopper Farms.
